Innovation in Logistics
How to Stimulate innovation uptake in Logistics
Target & Settings
Innovation in logistics has become a severe problem over the last few years. The investments in innovation in the logistics industry are far behind other sectors. This fact coupled with an ever increasing need of transport logistics to deal with the demands of a globalized economy has lead to an innovation barrier in the logistics industry that is especially severe for logistics SME’s and threatens their existence.
The Logistics innovation workshop is going to identify the obstacles to innovation together with shippers, logistics service providers and consultancy companies and to discuss the role of SMEs in logistics innovation. In particular, this event will deal with the role of social media and the impact of this phenomenon on innovation in logistics.
Topics to be discussed include:
- New Innovations methods e.g. Open Innovation, Living Labs, etc.
- SME’s as the driver for innovation in Supply chains
- Opportunities and risks of social media in logistics innovation
- The need for a communication platform on Logistics innovation
The workshop is steered towards industrial and governmental experts concerned with logistics innovations and will be held as part of the Transport Logistics trade fair in Munich.
The workshop will be held in English.
The workshop is organized by the LOGINN consortium
